This is Marcel with Kaylob. He's very good at getting the little boy to relax and go to sleep. He's a natural :-)

Here is what I harvested yesterday from the garden. The weather is becoming unpredictable, so I went ahead and harvested the remainder of the peppers. The Komatsuna is about what I harvest every week - that stuff is prolific! :-)

(p.s - would someone comment as to whether the link sends you to the video - I can't test it or embed it here due to work firewall restrictions)

So far mine is Ambiance, but I'm getting a lot of use out of Lose it!, Notes.
I may have to de-select the Scrabble game I bought - too distracting! :-)
I need to make an actual post to my journal - but for now - I will share a few pictures (so this could be like a picture post....yeah, that's what it is)
Here is my way too sexy husband taking a nap outside last week (I was down at his place). He is amazing in that he can sleep anywhere - I'm not kidding. He just closes his eyes when he feels like it and he takes a cat nap. He's up in 30 minutes totally refreshed. I envy that. If I take a nap with him - I'm out until he wakes me up.
I dried a jar of Blackberry leaves last week to make a mouthwash with (and tea too).
I am so LOVING my new coffee maker from my parents. OMG - this was the best birthday ever (especially with presents - my sister sent me TWO books on CHEESEMAKING!! - I just started reading one, and Marcel said he's all for exploring this food-craft).
Here I am with a little bit of the garden. Radishes and Komatsuna. I'll be posting more garden pics soon. I look a wreck, I know, but I'm a happy wreck. (not fishing for sympathy - just "keeping it real") ;-)
I managed to strain a muscle in my back (lower left side - very specific area) Friday evening - and, Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights it's woken me up at 4:30am (on the dot - how does it know?) in throbbing pain (not sharp pain but a freakish sickening throbbing).
The first night it scared me quite a bit because I didn't know what was happening. I thought I was having kidney failure or something.
Once up - I spentd the rest of the, so called, "morning" laying half upright on the couch trying to get in as many zzz's as possible before it was time to start the day.
I'm back at work - and the sitting for 9 hours is taking its toll. I'm in pain and dead dog tired from the past few nights of little sleep. I'm on my second Monster and THANK GOODNESS for a friend who gave me some painkiller/attitiude adjusters that start with a "V" and end in an "N" which doesn't take away the pain fully, but puts me in a state of mind to not care about it. ;-)
Other than that - life is peachy though :-)
Posting to LJ via ljapp. WooHoo :-)

Here is what it looks like (I googled "cross between a hummingbird and moth" when I came inside)
How is it that I've never seen this before in my whole life?
It was just like this - no fear. I would reach out to it and it would just scooch over just out of my reach. So cute!!

EDITED TO ADD:
HERE IS A WEBSITE FROM WIMBERELY TEXAS THAT TALKS ABOUT THEM

Monarch Butterflies are migrating through Corpus on their way south. There are swarms of them. Last night, after work, Marcel and I went to sit on the beach (at midnight....on Halloween.....we like to live dangerously). The butterflies carpeted the parking lot since they 1.) don't usually fly at night and 2.) can't fly if their body temp drops below 86F. I felt sorry for them. They were either just sitting on the ground - or they were trying desperately to fly without any luck.
This morning we returned to the beach and the beach was like a morgue with dead fish (due to Red Tide) and Monarch Butterflies (who didn't make it through the night). I picked up one of the butterflies who was damp from the surf, and I walked with him cupped in my hand. Marcel thought I was a little nuts.
I had him in one hand and picked up shells in the other. There was an amazing number of good shells to be had since 1.) it's November and there are hardly any tourists right now and 2.) Red tide has killed the inhabitants of some pre-maturely and they are all washing up at around the same time. We got some nice'uns

As we were walking to the Jetty the butterfly began to come to life - and he poked his little head out from between my fingers. While we were on the Jetty I opened up my hand, and he flew away!!! It was so awesome. He charged his body battery in my warm hands and then took off! I loved it.
Here is Marcel with his new Grandson. For the sake of my FriendsList I'll put the rest behind a cut.

(no need to be afraid - they are sugar cookies w/ almond slice fingernails coming out of crushed animal-cracker "earth")

I am wondering if this is okay for your hair. I mean "soap flakes"? I wash my clothes with them (when I occasionally make a batch of "homemade" laundry detergent).
Is anyone using homemade shampoo and/or conditioner? If so - how do you make yours.
